I know that you are all dissapointed today for losing in the final but don't be, look at the results above and the goals you scored against very good sides in the blistering heat. I am very proud of all of you today and you showed great courage and determination to come back in the semi-final after being a goal down against Toton who were a bigger side and a very good side, also for coming back against Bramcote. We scored some breathtaking goals today and the team looked very strong. With it being so hot today I had to switch the midfield quite a bit and I thought you all coped with that really well. I hope you all enjoyed the tournament and don't be dissapointed, be proud of yourselves. Well done.
Thanks to all the parents for their support and help today, it was a very long hot day and I didn't have to call first aid for any of you !
Luke :- again a very good performance, good save from the first kick of the final that shot would have just sneeked under the crossbar.
Jacob :- very good performance and very strong, that "your never going to get past me" attitude is great.
Harry J :- controlled a lot of the games and very strong with some superb play from the back.
Kai :- a fantastic tournament display, strength, speed and great goals just when we needed them. None of the teams could cope today.
Kyle :- great display and determination especially in the semi, great goals and battled really well in midfield.
Jake :- great display and play today, made a lot of superb chances and looked very dangerous.
Harry S :- another very good display, very good goal and made a lot of the play.
Reece :- very strong and always looked in control of the situation. What a Goal !
Taylor :- another very good display, played all over the field today and always showed great determination, very good play.
Aden :- totally controlled the front play and looked dangerous every time he got the ball, great goals, super skill.

A great team display. You all worked really well together and there was much more comminication on the pitch. You totally controlled the game from start to finish and were strong in every area. The team is really starting to take shape now and the link-up of play between defence and midfield then into attack is looking really strong. Well done lads .

Managers Write-up
A very good workout for the lads today. The heat was draining today for both teams but that didn't stop a very good game of football. The pitch on the other hand was very difficult to get a passing game going due to the length of the grass which was a big factor in our performance with passes not getting to their target due to the pitch rather than the quality of the pass. Overall I thought we played well and created a lot of chances and controlled the game without really being put under a lot of serious pressure. Due to the pitch its hard to get a lot from the game but I did pick up some specific "need to work on" points that I will go through with the team before the next match on Tuesday. Really well done to Jake Smith on his first match for the team today, I think you would all agree that he had a 10/10 game and will be a great addition to the squad. We need to work harder on communication and talking to each other on the pitch; it is still too quiet. I am looking for a Team Captain for next season and will need someone who will lead the team and be a leader on the pitch and keep the team working hard even when things aren't going our way and a never give up attitude.

Well done today Lions, a great victory. Whittington are a very good side and played good football but as a team you always looked in control and controlled the game. Well done Aiden and Reece for scoring your first goals for the team, both quality goals. Well done also to Luke for making that great save in the first half.
